That isn`t hunting, that`s slaughter. Hunting involves an element of difficulty such as a moving target, sight barriers (trees), or difficult terrain for movement; all of which are lacking here.

they are shooting them for food. go to the grocery store in their town and i bet there are some ancient apples, some brownish lettuce and maybe some bruised bananas and they probably cost about $10 each. the walrus is healthy, plentiful, and cheap.
