None of you get it.
It`s not about the 6 second loop. It is the fact that the music industry`s ways of taking an old and awesome beat and just reshaping it and molding it and virtually stealing it and calling it their own... even when they know very well it isn`t. Although the Amen Brother drum beat HAS (in my opinion) become too public to start copywriting, it`s not too late for others to start cracking down. I don`t know abou t you, but the musical "creativity" is hitting some lows, although there are exceptions to every rule.

And Pyro: Why did you bother watching it if you thought it was a dumbass idea? If you didn`t, then why do you care enough to waste your time writing a comment?

^^^ Vidder, while I agree with you about rap and hip hop sucking, that is a personal preference, not a fact. In fact, electronic music is just as difficult and (more, in some cases) complex to produce than acoustic music. What it is is simply using a different instrument to produce music. People still make the music, just using different techniques.

All you need is black face paint, a drum machine, a rhyming dictionary, and some one else`s song to be the next Puff Dogg Unit

Rap has set back black culture by about 50 years. It glorifies crime and drug use (irresponsible use) and womanizing and has created generations of uneducated thugs who like to believe they are some bastardized Italian Mob but they completely miss any sense of respect and honor that the Mob was founded on.

What I really don`t understand is how women could like any rap when in every song they are referred to as Bitches and Hoes.

"A machine playing the music and not a human being"? What exactly do you think a guitar is? Trumpet? Piano? Those are machines, my friend. Only when you`re talking *strictly* about voice can you truly claim that music is being `made by people`.

Music can be made out of just about anything. I could take two fucking sticks off the ground and make music. Get a clue.

OP, thanks for posting. As many years as I`ve been listening to D&B/Jungle, I`ve never known where that signature sound came from. You learn something new everyday.

You obviously don`t listen to enough rap. A lot of it is politically charged. And in any case, popular rap isn`t violent because it has to be, popular rap is violent because the audience will support the violent "gangsta" rap, thus making it successful. There are plenty of non-violent, political, etc. raps, they just don`t make it big because there is no market appeal of "mild" rap. Thankfully, they do thrive underground.

I hope those of you who are pissin on hip-hop/rap because they sample don`t like Daft Punk, Cassius, Chemical Brothers, any French House, or wait, most electronic music.

They all sample.

Actually, if you`re hating on hip-hop for sampling, you may as well burn your Daft Punk albums as each song utilizes sampling for almost 90% of the songs.

There is an art in sampling, if you don`t think so, then you`ve no idea what music is all about.
