I`ve always wondered where these people who cry tears of joy for Gladiators returning actually exist in society. I talk to a lot of the public and most seem pretty on the ball or they just don`t care ... except Fox news seems to have the entire population of them watching?

Americans are too ignorant and stupid to deserve a president like Obama. The whole flag thing should not even be an issue, nor even worth mentioning. But you know the American media is all too eager to sensationalize anything just to momentarily gain attention and increase their ratings.

I`m secretly hoping it`s Clinton vs McCain because I want to see the US crumble. Call me a sadist, but I take great pleasure in seeing the most arrogantly imbecilic nation in the world slowly destroy itself from the inside out. America`s fall is on the horizon.

Thanks, same to you bud, or rather sadist. Neither Clinton nor McCain would destroy this country. The lot of you morons who chat politics on Spiked really need to get a REAL education that has required you to think critically and analytically rather than learn a few adjectives and transitions in that one English class that you DIDN`T get an F in. Clinton and McCain probably wouldn`t do as well as Obama, true, but an instantaneous downfall is caused by things like giant asteroids and the black death, not a President with limited powers. Seriously, if you were half as smart as you think you are, you would know that it is hypocritical to talk down another country whose leader happens to be an idiot even though only 30% of its citizens even LIKE said leader.

First off, I`m an American who`s ashamed about what`s happened and will continue to happen because many of you will blindly accept authority without questioning it. Or rather, you will vote willingly for either a douche bag or a turd sandwich in the elections and think it is actual democracy, or even believe that those people you are electing actually give a shit about you, the average citizen, and not the lobbyists who pressure them to give corporate tax breaks or support AIPAC. And yes, all three frontrunners in the race are corporate stooges, despite what they preach in their shallow rhetoric or what the media decides to paint them as. Do a little research and educate yourself, smart guy.

Secondly, you are simply delusional if you think McCain, if elected, will not run this country down. Have you recently heard the man speak? He talks militantly about occupying the Middle East for hundreds of years and says the American public will have no problem with it. Say, do you think our recessing economy has anything to do with the billions of dollars being poured oversees to maintain our empire? Hillary is not much better and has always voted to fund troops in the Middle East.

Thirdly, about 50% of the country in both 2000 and 2004 voted for Bush. Sorry, but half of the people back then thought Bush was worth voting for. Like I`ve said, American voters, like their president, are plain stupid.

Lastly, I am arguing on the Internet, so I will stop.

The problem is that the people of today have no retirement future. SS will not be around, so the money I make I put into SAVINGS which is HORRIBLE for the economy.

THATS the problem.

And if a Democrat is elected and do this whole Universal Healthcare shit they`re talking about, it`s going to get WORSE because taxes will be higher and I will put ALL (instead of most) of my extra income into savings.

No one said McCain would be a "good" president, you spun some sort of apocalyptic picture out of his presidency. Reagen wasn`t a good person either, neither was either of the Bushes, but the country survived, worse off, but alive. THAT`S my point. and if you mean, "educate" myself with fucktard internet conspiracy videos than know that I`ve seen them all and have drawn my own conclusions that a radical insurrection isn`t the way to change your government. The government is a lot more complicated and morally ambivalent that you arrogant sons of bitches on the internet make it out to be. Also, I like how you brought up how 50% of the vote went to Bush and also claimed that elections are shams. No democracy huh? Either we are cheated, and we are ignorant and did it to ourselves. But I do agree, the arguing on the internet is lame, but I didn`t want you to think I endorse McCain in any way, I`m simply saying it takes time to destroy a nation that has built itself up so much. While I`m at it, PAC`s and lobbyists do work against the people sometimes, butt hey weren`t originally created to hijack liberty, rather to open a new facet for people to fulfill their needs. As the rich caught on to this, they cut out the real Americans and stole this opportunity from us. In my opinion, the elections are very real. Bush won twice because people ARE stupid. You`ll have to understand, from you`re original post I got the impression you were not American, introspection is fine, I just don`t like having my entire country judged by some prick 11 year-old Frenchman online. Hopefully, that clarifies a few things.

Bill Maher`s left wing snobbery can get annoying over time. Instead of discussing the issues in any depth he just goes for a sarcastic laugh.

As a side note: I am looking forward to Australian Gladiators coming back on TV. I was a big fan as a kid. Does it seem impossible that I also realize that the mainstream media is full of shit and am in fact an active member of infowars? 2 + 2 = ?
