The P-51 Mustang

The P-51 Mustang was a long-range single-seat fighter aircraft that served with the Allied air forces during WW2. It flew mostly as a bomber escort in raids over Germany, ensuring air superiority from early 1944. The definitive version of the fighter was powered by a supercharged 12-cylinder Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. It is in my opinion the most aesthetically pleasing of all the WW2 fighters.

Most aesthetically pleasing WW2 fighter is generally considered to be this plane: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarine_Spitfire.

The P51 isn`t bad, but with it`s cut-off wings, "hang-belly" and short body I wouldn`t exactly call it exatly aestheticall.

personally, I find the p51 Mustang one of most beautiful planes that WWII produced. all a matter of taste I guess but the fact that they were so bad-ass they didn`t need camouflage makes it for me.

"So bad ass they didn`t need camouflage", that`s a pretty funny statement cause the camouflage color found on the spitfire was ment to camouflage the plane on the ground for bombers, of course the camouflage didn`t do jack shit in the air. So what you`re actually saying, they look so badass the bombers would not bomb them?

the mustang is a sexy plane for sure, love that shiney, sleek look with the revolutionary bubble canopy. Even the name is great, "Mustang" its wild, untamed and free. The spitfire was a great plane and sexy as well, but I have to disagree with you; the mustang is sex with wings.
