Chinese Modern Small Arms

Collection of China's PLA (People's Liberation Army) infantry weapons. Looks like AK-47 days are over. I can see some interesting mix of various 'borrowed' technology. Some of the guns look like mesh of French, Russian and USA designs...

the best part about these weapons is that if your enemy picks it up from a dead solder he dies from lead poisoning from the paint

We have a shitload of rifles trying to replace out shitty M16 but I guess COLT? is supplying too many elections and staying in business. lol. (how the M16 even got into business the first place) I really hope something like the HK416 or something replaces it. These chinese guns are boxy and were shitty in BF2.

the only down side about all of those guns is that they were all made in China. I`m sorry but that is the weakest link in the whole operation.

Look closely at the weapons of the future country that will soon become the #1 economic and military super power of the world.

They should show the muzzle end of the guns, because thats all we are going to see by 2025.

bullpup generally aren`t a very good design. It`s a little new and has a unique look and that`s cool and all but for all intents and purposes having the magazine well by the buttstock makes it very awkward to reload. The balance is good on them though. It`s really not a big improvement. Another point about bullpups are that the overall weapon seems shorter and more compact but it maintains the same accuracy of an M16 because the barrel length is the same, all the mechanics are built closer to the shooter. Eh... I don`t like bullpups. Held them before.

the type 95 and 97 are all chinese design, you can see it from the bullpup design.

Yes, because BF2 is the best way to test military equipment....


The m16s were supposed to be replaced a long time ago. However, it wasn`t colt who was greasing the wheels at the DoD procurement department, technically it was HK ut that`s debatable. It all started with that damn OICW everyone loves. HK won the contract in a competative bid against all the other big name arms manufacturers to make the big fucker we all know. Then the US Gov Cancelled that contract because the OICW was too bulky and turned out to be a bad idea. That was stage 1.

HK took a big financial hit after putting so much money into the project the Us gov`t made a deal, they gave them a new contract to make a new rifle as well as other research contracts (essentially to pay them back). This is where it got hairy. The contracts were`nt clear and they essentially just told HK, look we`re sorry we made you lose money on the OICW, we dont` know what to buy now but hold on we;ll get back to you.

They wound up asking for a modified version of the g36 which became the XM-8 and was supposed to replace the m4/m16 family.
Everything was good to go until COLT said they were going to sue the government (either the suit dropped or it`s caught in legal hell). in developed countries, when the gov`t wants to buy these things, they put it out to compeataive bid. many companies give proposals and the best one wins. Sometimes the gov`t doesn`t have to but it`s really complicated when they do a "sole-source" contract and often companies go to court to try to open up the competition. Then there was Iraq and afghanistan which called for quick upgrades. So now there`s modified m4s and the m16a4 (not sure if the a4 came before or after iraq).

The us gov`t (now that they`re broke) were looking for an upgraded m4 that would increase the size of the round. Barrett, HK and colt are all bidding on this but from what i know that too is now on hold and probably going to get cancelled since the military budget has more pressing things to invest on. So chances are the US will have the m16 family of weapons for years to come.

Not all of this is 100% I`m going off of memory but that`s the gist of it.
