Gracies are far from godlike, Look up Gracie Hunter in a search engine. Before he got old Sakuraba man handled every Gracie who wanted to challenge him, playing with them at times.

"kung fu expert" ? - says who?

a real chinese gong fu master/expert (for example, a shaolin adept) would destroy any of these mma/ground fighters

ive seen this time and time again on the internet: because of chinese gong fus high reputation, they set up these pathetic fights to promote whatever style they are pitting against the so-called kung fu, thus showing the other styles supposed superiority - funny thing is, the supposed kung fu guys are always more-or-less just standing there

if you think this guy is displaying what chinese gong fu really has to offer, or think a gracie could beat a true shaolin or internal martial artist, then you're either misinformed (as westerners often are about such things) or just blindly standing by your chosen external fighting style

there is more truth to the matter than what can be derived on "spike tv" and the net

expert is a western word thats thrown around pretty easily

i'd like to see any of the gracies go up against the "iron egg skill" guy currently on spiked's homepage

I don't know why I'm bothering, but here it is:
It's not the style or method, it's the fighter. There is no such thing as a dominate style, only a dominate fighter. Someone can train for years and years and still get wiped out by a rookie, simply because he can move better, think faster, or apply better technique.

I'd still like to see a pure combat style fighter against any of these "experts" because in a real fight there's ball kicking, biting, etc... and all of the holds I saw there pretty much depend on someone not going for your balls. No way you'd do most of those grappling moves with a guy's face 2 inches from your most prized possessions.
