Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen

This is Leonard Cohen performing Hallelujah on a tv show. For those of you who don't know, this man is the original writer of the song and this song has since been re-made and reworked by the likes of John Cale, Jeff Buckley, and Rufus Wainwright. Enjoy!

This is a fucking terrible interpretation of the song.

Rufus Wainwright's performance of this song was a dozen times more wonderful.

Y'know hes not talking about god and religion. Well from the way I see it, hes talking about a girl, possible a prostitute. And sex acts...

this will get voted down i'm sure, but!!!! Leonard Cohen is a great songwriter yes, but that's where it stops. The man has no rhythm whatsoever. Once upon a time I was stuck in the backseat of my aunt and uncle's car while heading back to Whistler. They had a Leonard Cohen CD on repeat. What I wouldn't have done for a bit o' cyanide at that moment. Torture, total and complete torture. No rhythm! None, nada, zip!

This is terrible. We all know Cohen wrote the song, but Jeff Buckley made this song famous and beautiful, and to me his version will always be the best. Expand yourself and listen to Jeff, he is a saint. PS any version of any song used in a Shrek movie shouldn't even be brought up for mention Rufus fans, are you old enough to chat online?
