Relaxing Playstation game from 1998. "The concept is an interactive sound lab - allowing the player to create dance and electronic music. The player uses a dolphin character in 'Cruise Stage' to collect samples for mixing in the 'Groove Editor'." (Was known as 'Depth' in Japan.)

It's part of playstation's "living room attack". They wanted to make the system more accessible for people who don't want to blow shit up.

^ Yes. The game had two parts. The first part was a music editor, where you could create your tunes. (You could get extra samples in dolphin mode - see description above. Also a lot of stuff was preprogrammed - so you would choose from drum beats, bass, tempo, etc.) Then with your new groovy tune you would relax while guiding a dolphin through different scenarios...

... Five minutes after that you would load up Doom and start killing every living fucking thing you could find.

Im not a console fan, i prefer the pc but i did have a playstation 1. That console was really a step forward. So many games were truly great looking for the day.
The PS2 didn't produce one single game that had the same impact and neither has the pS3 or Xbox360 yet. Sure they look good but not mind blowing for the age we are in.
