Love this guys DIY videos. But honestly I can see idiots burning someone's eye out with this idea or what if kids get their hands on one of these. And why on earth I wanna waste a good DVD-Burner for a laser pointer. That reminds me, I think I have a stuffed up DVD-Burner somewhere in my garage.

if the parts are cheap enough, and if this actually works, it's a cheap deal for someone who would spend probably over $100 for something similar.

What you don't get though is known collomation, output power, or GREEN. I think the green ones are the coolest.

if anyone is wondering who this guy is, his username is "KipKay".

You need a laser housing for this which isnt easy to find unless you take apart a 20$ laser pointer, i think you can use a cd burner as well because they use simular lasers.

Yeah I wondered about a CDR laser working also. Wish he mentioned if it would work or not.

If it has to be dumbed down, maybe you shouldn't be trying it.

I agree about the retinal implications. Wonder what twat will do this, give it to his 5 year old, or will take it to school/the airport/hockey game and start shining it around..
