WWII Documentary

WWII Veterans talk about their experiences and losses, back in the day where their war meant fighting for freedom, country and brotherhood. Unlike the sham we call today as the War On Terror.

Oh yes the Yanks did join in eventually. After making a fortune out of lend lease.
Bothe my father and father in law were in this conflict from 1939 onwards. On different sides admittedly.
This sounded trite after listening directly to those people who were actually there.

^^Nazis ha^^ You do realize so many Russians died beacause Stalin killed 90 % of his officers in a crazy purge thus when they did fight no one knew what they were doing. So Stalins answer was kill the families of POWs for surrendering or throw masses of people against an army using no stratagy. You would be better off to live in NAZI Germany than Soviet Russia. As Stalin was much more wacko and evil than Hitler. Oh and Stalin performed purges against Jews as well.

The German experience with preserved blood was no conducive to further use. There were so many serious reactions that medical officers lost interest in it. Those who reported satisfactory results were usually in favorable positions, along the lines of transportation. Some medical officers had never seen preserved blood used in the field without "deleterious" chills. Plasma and serum were seldom used, although officers who used captured U.S. stocks of plasma were enthusiastic about it.

^^^ What's your point, yes Stalin was a terrible dictator, I'm not disputing that.
As for "Better off in Nazi Germany than the USSR"? No. The Nazis were brutal to the Soviet civilian population, much more so than Stalin. A sickening example is after the Red Army liberated a Ukrainian town, the women of the town ran up to the soldiers told them that the Nazis had taken the babies and children of the town and used them for blood transfusions for their wounded soldiers until they had no blood left, sucking their bodies dry and throwing away the corpses in mass graves.

EDIT: This was from a documentary on the Eastern front on the Discovery Channel

^^Also they would have taken adults before babies or children as they have much more blood. The fact that babies and children get introduced without reason makes it sound suspect.

Also if you want to see sickening see the biggest mass rape in history by red army soliders just google, "Red Army Atrocities"
Even those Polish nad Russian women liberated from concentration camps got raped so if you want to compare get some real facts buddy.

The true crime of the NAZIs is that they lost.

^Ok, I googled red army atrocities and the only article on it I got on it was from wikipedia (hardly the most reliable of sources), "real facts", yeah right. It doesn't seems like this is a proven or widely acknowledged fact (no world leaders have acknowledged these claims), ya damn Nazi. Prominent Russian military historians reject these claims and the government amounts them to slander.

I think the underline point is this was a time of unprecedented cooperation between nations to confront a common threat. My American, Russian, English, Canadian, Australian,
and New Zealand brothers and sisters all worked towards the same end. You can argue who had it worse, everyone did who lost people. You hear about the Allied D-day invasion, you see the video from the American landing, hear about the Brits stopping for tea after they secured there beach, but you hardly hear anything about the Canadian forces who by far, had the highest losses during the d-day invasion. Or the legendary Russian female snipers who had crazy high kill rates. I think everyone can agree, freedom is by far not free.
