pretty cool but isnt there a certain way to hook up the batteries? pretty sure you need more then 2 wires to hook it up to 2 batteries like he did

^^^ ( L3b3rt ) you can connect the batteries in series which will give you around 3 volts, since the normal operating voltage for LED's is between 1~5 volts.

wire - ==== + - ==== + wire

what if the water melts, wouldnt in short circuit the ? u can also use a clear type glue or hardening liquid instead of water, then it wont melt. Its a cool way of making a lamp in ur room

Use the gel powder to solidify the water. It looks translucent and doesnt melt.

Re-use led, no water spilled..
Cool effect on table for a couple of hours.
Ill bet everyone will be staring at it untill its just the led :)

might wanna put a current limiting resistor so the LED does not burn out...cause that would suck.. its just a normal resistor in series with the LED...trust me i speak from experience..

^^ a 62 ohm for 2 batteries would be perfect, since not that much current in AA batteries, it will give the lED a longer life
