It is definitely not the newest news but for all of you who don't know, two research groups are creating a new "liquid armor" that may help protect the entire body unlike current armor which covers only specific areas of the body. The liquid is actually known as shear thickening liquid which is a mixture of hard nanoparticles and nonevaporating liquid.The rest of the story can be found here.

An Israeli company called Rafael has developed a sort of protective bubble defending ground vehicles against rocket-propelled grenades.
The "Metal Storm" pistol, which can never jam, is the fastest firing and most powerful handgun in the world. This video also covers the larger "Metal Storm" weapons, which can fire 16,000 9mm rounds per second and 250,000 40mm grenades in a minute.
