when superman was under the mind control of maxwell lord, he beat up wonder woman and nearly killed batman. realizing that she can't beat him, wonder woman got maxwell lord in her lasso and demanded to know how she can free superman, to which he replied "kill me." wonder woman then snapped his neck in the scene above, breaking the "do not kill" code that the big three have lived by in their superhero careers. the act freed superman, and saved batman's life, but their relationship with her has worsened and the footage of her killing maxwell lord was shown all over the world. the "brother eye" satellite, created by batman to keep a watch over meta-humans self-activated, releasing the killer omacs (one man army corps) against the superheroes in the "infinite crisis" event.
