a short animated video created by trey parker and matt stone set to the audio of the late great alan watts. describing two ways of perceiving reality. if you haven't heard of alan watts, but are interested in eastern philosophy/mysticism, i would recommend his book titled "the book" as a great starting point. sorry about the youtube embed in advance :)
an abridged western version of buddhism by the most spiritual alan watts. alan watts is an atheist buddhist who was a writer, poet, and philosopher that took buddhism and compared it to western philosophy (however much he will argue he is not just those confined definitions of himself). he left behind a great deal of recordings and some would argue is the first major influence on buddhism to western culture. he grew up as a catholic and when pressed chose buddhism over it. he has a masters in theology and doctorate in 'divinity'.
alan watts explains several points of view about the spirituality of not entertaining in the ideals of gods. some people, including himself call this zen, i would call it a perspective worth listening to. please note that there are several videos in this video, so don't expect it to end at the "prickly and goo" idea, and the best ideals come at the last...
