a couple of sampson county teenagers are behind bars after trying to rob a well-known hardware store in dunn, and family members are calling the store's 81-year-old owner a hero. richard carr owns the hardware store. he got quite a scare thursday when a gunman tried to rob him, but carr fought back and one of the 15-year-old teenagers fled. police caught up with him a few blocks away. they say the other one never left the store. carr, who has owned the store for 50 years, said he doesn't take kindly to someone trying to rob him. "well, he had the gun i tried to get it from him," carr said.
