LOS ANGELES -- When a gang member was released from jail soon after his arrest for selling methamphetamine, friends and associates assumed he had cut a deal with authorities and become a police informant.
They sent a warning on Twitter that went like this: We have a snitch in our midst.

SWEDEN- A 59-year-old man has been arrested for using his ex-wife's musophobia to wreak cruel revenge for their break up after he pushed 19 mice through her letter box on Sunday morning.
"She was scared out of her wits and is now being cared for in hospital," said Lars Lisberger at Stockholm police.
The jilted ex-husband has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful threats and animal welfare. . .

An Indonesian man lost six teeth when the cigarette he was smoking exploded in his mouth.
Andi Susanto, a 31-year-old security guard, said PT Nojorono Tobacco Indonesia, the maker of the brand of cigarette he was smoking, had offered to pay for his medical treatment, which reportedly cost 5 million rupiah (£335).

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich.- Calling to mind any number of Home Improvement episodes, police say a 62-year-old Independence Township man was hospitalized Sunday after strapping a homemade rocket to his back while sledding.
Fox 2 reports the rocket -- a combination of gunpowder, match heads and gasoline stuffed in a motorcycle muffler -- exploded during a downhill ride at a party he hosted.

Alaskans now have their own name for the famous Pennsylvania German holiday we know as Groundhog Day.
Called Marmot Day, after the common species found in Alaska and other mountainous regions, the holiday takes place Feb. 2 every year.

TUCUMCARI, N.M. -- Tracks in the snow leading from a crashed car to the nearby bridge overpass on New Mexico's I-40 just didn't look right to officers.
